STEAM in Action!

SLS students engage in hands-on learning projects across several subject areas. In Art Class, for example, students are working to produce a short stop-motion movie. One of the challenges in making this type of movie is keeping the iPad camera location stable and consistent during filming. To address this challenge, students are using the engineering design process to design a custom iPad stand for their stop-motion project. Each student built a prototype with LEGOs, then used a software application called TinkerCAD to sketch out their design. Potential solutions were 3D-printed, tested, modified and 3D-printed again until a successful stand was produced. Take a look at the stands in action as the students work on their stop motion project!
